2. Anemographs
Color photographs and drawings recording the motions of different species of trees and plants in the wind.
A tiny light bulb attached to the branches of a tree or a plant registers the motion of the wind on the light sensitive film surface. The way of motion varies from species to species. The waltzing spruce moves about in large circles compared to the shaking rhythm of the trembling birch.
The trees and plants have also themselves worked as wind recorders tracing their own movements directly on a piece of white paper with a marker pen attached to the branches.
